How To Spring Clean Your Diet Fast

How To Spring Clean Your Diet Fast

It’s springtime! The most common time for people to re-motivate themselves to eat healthy and get fit after the long winter months of pot-roasts and cookies. Check out these tips on how to spring clean your diet fast so that you can feel your best come summer.

Reduce Caffeine Consumption

It’s hard for most people to kick their morning coffee habit, but reducing your caffeine intake is good for you. It can improve your body’s ability to absorb calcium, and as most people know, calcium keeps your bones and teeth strong and healthy. Reducing caffeine also may decrease your risk of high blood pressure.

Drink Water with Lemon and Cayenne

This concoction is popular because of the Master Cleanse which consists of a similar juice meant for cleansing and detoxing the body. If you drink water with lemon and cayenne pepper throughout the day (along with healthy meals) it can help your body process the food quickly and efficiently.

Green Drink Smoothies Every Morning

Green drink smoothies are a great breakfast choice! You can cram a whole ton of fruits and veggies into one green drink and infuse your body with a plethora of vitamins and antioxidants it needs. As a tip, it’s good to add extras like chia seeds, protein powders and green supplements. These add-ons can boost your smoothie and supercharge your energy levels.

Look for supplements made with all-natural ingredients, like fruits and veggies, that can be added into any drink or smoothie for a nutritional boost. You can also check out health food stores for a variety of different seeds and protein powders to add to your morning smoothies.

Reduce Oil, Cheese, Bread, and Meat Consumption

Opt for healthy oils like avocado oil and coconut oil when cooking instead of canola or generic vegetable oil. Keep oil to a minimum and make lots of veggie stir-frys with whole grains and seeds like quinoa and wild rice.

Finally, avoid bread, cheese and meat the majority of the time to get your body in tip-top shape for spring and summer. Don’t forget to treat yourself to a ‘cheat’ meal every now and then, too! Because let’s face, life’s no fun unless you break the rules every now and then.
